Twice bitten thrice shy !!

Envy those who have camera on their mobile phones. Some of the sights I saw and couldn’t take an instant pic are,

Scene 1: A dog watchfully crossing the road looking both sides and more fascinatingly on the pedestrian crossing !!

Scene 2: A dog (again!!) sleeping royally with hands and legs stretched amidst debris of plastic cups and glasses a plenty. As though it was heavily drunk. :P

Scene 3: A cow felling plastic water containers and drinking water stored for domestic use.

However beautiful the sights were, I still prefer snapping them in my eyes than carrying a mobile camera. After losing two mobile phones, I am more than vindicated for having an inexpensive phone. After all, when there is a loss, the value for the numbers stored would be more than the instrument value. :-)

IPL and Idiots

Two movies made it really big in the last few weeks…both had a “3” connection..one was 3 idiots and other one had to be watched on 3D…:P…Three idiots is something that I was yearning to watch and the movie didn’t fail me at all. It’s such a treat for me always to watch a Raju Hirani movie. Haven’t seen a script writer/director who can convey strong messages with such ease and so lightly. The guy also comes across as a very genuine n simple person. Felt the same about chetan bhagat as well when the controversy broke. I haven’t read any of his books but somehow both the sides of the coin sounded genuine to me. My situation was one of a common friend trying to truce up two friends who are fighting. :D....luckily I am not a common friend for them and Aamir Khan can’t be one. Wish such things don’t take away any credit from Raju Hirani who is sincere with his movies. He himself had admitted in an interview during Munnabhai MBBS time that the movie is a mafia-mixed lighter version of Hrishikesh Mukherjee’s “Anand”. So if he says he didn’t copy the book fully, there must be some sense to it. Coming to Avatar, it’s a visual treat especially on 3D but the hype created somehow didn’t match my satisfaction from the movie. :P

I have been a huge fan of kannada actor Ashwath and it was a sad moment when he passed away this week. He was in the league of great character artistes in Indian cinema and would do any role with so much poignancy. Often these great actors don’t get the same recognition as the stars get. That’s a curse.

Pakistan cricketers have been ignored by the IPL franchisees !!…quite funny when the side owners said it’s for safety reasons and also coz of their players’ availability. Personally I feel it’s a loss for IPL not to have talented cricketers like Umar Akmal and Mohd.Aamir. Pakistan lost miserably to Australia coz of their sad batting performance. Their bowling still inspires awe in me. They have been able to produce battery of bowlers over the years. Imagine a side with Indian batsmen and Pakistani bowlers..can any side beat us together? Indian hockey would have got more gold medals in olympics than what we managed before our Independence (5 before 1947 and 3 after that)… Imagine partition hadn’t happened?
